This medal is awarded in recognition of your work at the world's biggest celebration of the advent of the third millennium - the Dome at Greenwich in the year 2000 and the Millennium Experience across the UK. The Dome in 2000 was a place where thousands of people worked together to create a unique experience for millions of visitors.

The Dome's graceful canopy changed the landscape of London and enclosed the largest covered space on Earth. Across the UK millions were involved in the Millennium Festival of local celebrations and the National Programme of education, environment and charity projects.
